Host Nation Support (HNS) project's overall objective is to develop an operating model and a training package for situations when Southwest Finland Emergency Services need international or national help to handle an emergency situation.

On top of that Southwest Finland Emergency Services aims to be a nationally significant authority in host nation support.

The project for the development of Host Nation Support Guidelines at Southwest Finland Emergency Services has ended on the 30th of June 2021. 

The produces guidelines are freely available to rescue and other authorities and partners. You can download the electronic version of the guidelines here (Only in Finnish):

The results of the project are currently been utilised in a project for developing a national Host Nation Support training module and educational materials (HNS2). 

Duration and budget

The duration of Host Nation Support project is 1.1.2019-30.6.2021.

The budget of HNS is 120 400 €.

The Finnish Fire Protection Fund has co-funded the Project by 90 300 €.
